Top 3 signs that you need a plumber fast

Most of us have been there, a blocked drain, a burst pipe or another plumbing issue that needs urgent repairs. But it doesn’t have to be this way. There are signs to look out for before the problem gets to the point where it’s a full blown plumbing emergency. Here we intend to lay out what we feel are the top 3 signs to look for. Tackling the issue before you need Emergency Plumbers means you can avoid larger expenses due to water damage.

Another thing to consider is that not all plumbers are the same. It is rare to find a plumber with every license, mostly, plumbers focus on one aspect. Plumbers deal with all things water and gas related, that includes your heating, cooling and even roofing. However, most larger plumbing companies have a team so they should be able to handle anything you need.

So here they are, our top 3 signs that you should look out for to avoid the situation becoming far worse.

1. Loss of water pressure

One morning you are following your normal routine, you get up and head straight to the shower. Except this time, something is different. You notice that the shower seems to be weaker, the water pressure is slightly less than usual. But you don’t think anything of it at the time as it’s not that bad, maybe it’s something that will pass on it’s own.

But later in the day, you fill up the kettle to make a cup of tea. You now notice the pressure has reduced significantly and become much weaker than the morning. Now it’s roughly down to 50% normal pressure and you check shower again and all your taps. It’s the same everywhere, poor water pressure.

This is a sign that somewhere in your plumbing system, there is a burst pipe. This is a classic case where the water pressure drops off. Sometimes these problems can take weeks or months before the water pressure becomes so low that there is no water at all. The whole time, water had been leaking and the water bill was accumulating. To confirm the problem is confined to your residence you can ask your neighbors if their water is normal. If the problem is within your plumbing system, it’s time to call Emergency Plumbers

2. The same drain keeps getting clogged

So you have a specific sink, let’s say a bathroom sink, where the drain gets clogged. You have experienced a clogged drain and you get the same chemicals you have used before. You leave the chemicals to do it’s thing overnight and the next morning, the drain is clear and everything is fine.

However, the same drain becomes blocked again in only a matter of weeks. You use the chemicals and wallah, problem solved. Now, it’s only a few days and the same drain is blocked again.
This is a sign that there is a more serious issue causing the blocked drain. There are a number of things that could be causing this and Emergency Plumbers are the ones to call to find out what it is. The two main reasons for a repeating blocked drain problem are either something poured down the drain that should not have been or a damaged pipe somewhere

3. Why is mould growing on the ceiling in my lounge room?

There is only one reason why mould can grow on a ceiling and that is because of moisture. It is common for bathrooms where people do not use the bathroom exhaust fan everytime, for mould to grow on bathroom walls and ceilings. This is because of the humidity and steam from a hot shower. But to see mould growing in an open room such as a lounge room, well, this is a sign of a leaking roof.

Rain water is somehow getting inside the roof and dripping down onto an area above the lounge room. Over time, this water is soaked up by both the insulation and the ceiling plaster. These are conditions absolutely perfect for mould to develop and grow. Unless you are consistently splashing water inside your lounge room and getting the ceiling wet, the answer is a leaking roof.

Before the mould gets out of hand, as soon as you notice it begins to form, Emergency Plumbers should be contacted. This will prevent extensive water damage that could potentially occur if left alone. Not to mention that having mould inside your home comes with it’s own health issues. Get it fixed fast!

So there you have it, that is a list of our top 3 reasons and signs that you need a plumber fast. You can share this blog with your friends so they too can know what to look for. Knowing these few simple tips can end up saving you and your friends a lot of money in the long run. Fix the problem early before it becomes more serious and expensive!
